The Story Behind The Show

“The internet ruined it!”
We've all heard it. From the biggest societal shifts to our smallest everyday habits, the internet is constantly blamed for everything that we feel has gone bad.
But is there any real substance to these claims? Or are we just looking at them wrong?
Ruined By The Internet? takes these complaints, and cuts through the noise to investigate whether these varied aspects of our world are truly casualties of the web, or if there's a more nuanced story going on.
Each episode, we dig deep into something “ruined”, exploring the arguments, examining the evidence, and uncovering the complexities. We're here to find out what's lost, and what's just different.
The Inspiration: A World of Digital Complaints
The idea for Ruined By The Internet? came from everyday observations. Everywhere I looked, people from all walks of life were using the online space (and the offline one) to complain about how the internet was ruining everything - from our love lives, to our ability to focus, to society itself.
This constant stream of complaints about digital detriment got me wondering: Is it actually true? This show is my attempt to find some answers to that question, through thought-provoking discussions to unravel the truth behind the hyperbole.
Enjoy the show,
